Wallpaper solution discovered

I hate wallpaper. I haven't used it in years. It grows too stale and I get sick of looking at it. I prefer solid colors.

Well not anymore! Now I can set KEYWORDS to my desktop wallpaper. With the app I wrote last night I can give a couple keywords (Snowboard, Disney, Baseball, Baltimore Ravens) and always have a fresh desktop image.

Thanks Google!

Digg!

Awesome app, But why are we stuck with "Stretched?" Maybe some of us like our wallpaper "Centered?"

Haha this comes up with some awesome backgrounds.

One feature which would be nice would be a "save current background to file" button/option that one could click when the good ones come up.

Very good idea dude! Glad somebody was thinking of it too because stale desktops drive me nuts. However it's quite unstable and often when I ask it to update it dosn't. Could this be attributed to the .NET platform itself (from what I've heard its not too stable) or is it just your code? Well needless to say it might be worth a play with, maybe I could strip away the web stuff and just get it to look through a directory for pics instead.

hey, i really enjoy your google wallpaper program, i just REALLY REALLY wish it saved its keywords in the registry or a cfg file.

aside from that, i think it's a cool program, been looking for something like that for a long time. :D

Hey man, nice app.
Just a suggestion: try to download a JPG format image instead of a BMP, i think it would be a lot faster when updating the background.

Keep rockin'

Hey, I am getting a 404 error when it tries to update now. I guess his Google account ran out of hits. :)

Hey all,

I did not have time to add much to the Google Wallpaper.

Changes:
A ban this picture (WARNING: Does not save through runs)
An option to clear ban list.
Save picture feature, BMP ONLY so far.
A couple more informative messages

Future changes when I have time:
Saving the banned images
Multipage searching
More configurable options
Stretching images to desktop, keeping porportions
Local images retrieval on top of Google.

Any other ideas? Let me know, please! Remember, no guarentee that I will get to it soon.

Also, as usual with the SoftwareJedi's apps, .NET required.

Code:

http://www.spunge.org/~demortes/jedi/GoogleWallpaperMod1Source.zip

Binary:

Enjoy,
Demortes
