Mashups, and WebEx
How could I get away with doing this without making a mashup?!?! Well... This one will go down as the silliest mashup ever, and probably disappoint the Software Jedi's loyal fans. However, for the MS bashing crowd, I must point out that the only Microsoft technology used to develop this app was notepad. It's also the first cross platform "application" The Software Jedi has created for this project. Enjoy.
Check out my Polar Bear Tracker in the download blog!
Oh, then donate using the link on the right.
Next up, Screenbroadcasting. Well, the screen broadcasting application as many of you know just couldn't hold up to the large number of people bottlenecking at my cable modem. We've tried different ideas over the last 10 days, but now The Software Jedi has one that works great. He has a WebEx trial version and can start screen sharing with up to 9 other people. I'm working on that 9 person limit as it isn't nearly enough, but come into the chat and try to find a spot.
I get a lot of emails asking where the chat link is. It appears AT THE TIME OF CODING which is listed in the title of the blog in GMT.
May the source be with you.

Polar Bear mashup - interesting work.
If you're still stuck for ideas, I'd like to have seen a recording facility for your screen broadcaster so anyone with a full-time job in another country (UK in my case) who is unable to stay up past 3am GMT (last time I joined you you had JUST started coding properly at 3am!) can view your process. If it was tied timewise to the chat tool's log so users could get text and video of the whole event then even better!
Would it be possible to use a local (to you) based recording app (like those used to create on-screen application demonstrations) like Camtasia to record your process for one of the evenings? I'm really keen to see how you cope with skipping from VB to PHP to Javascript to the GoogleMaps API. How much is looked-up/cut/paste and how much just flows from your fingers? I am just very interested to see how you work.
Reading about your decision to use WebEx, how about redeveloping your screen broadcaster to broadcast one image to a central server (flickr, or similar) and change the client to somehow get the images and replay them. Obviously, due to server-side resources, you might want to figure out how to "loop" round having just ten or so images on the server. Then the bottleneck for all your clients will be the image repository's bandwidth and not your meagre cable upload bandwidth?
Anyway, keep up the good work.
I feel a source I have not felt in a long long time...
The source runs strong in your family.
how about an app that could capture the usernames/password that you enter into websites when you select remember password. Kind of like Atomic IE Password Cracker, but instead of cracking it, it captures it the first time you enter it.
